You are a toy

1. Describe the process you went through to change your object into the correct perspective to create the drawing. This is when you were in the lab.

First we went to photoshop and stretched out the picture, then we put 1 inch grids on it and a piece of paper and started to transfer the picture to the paper square by square then color it in.

2. How did distorting and stretching the object allow for you to create a drawing that would look different to the viewer?

When looking at it flat and straight it looks like it's stretched out but when at a specific angle it looks like the correct proportion and size.

3. What were the most important concepts in the project to make it successful?

Transfering the photo to the paper was hard since if you messed up one square the entire drawing is messed up.

1. Explain how you changed your photo in the lab to create a stencil.
     I had to find a photo of something with historical meaning or cool architecture.  I chose the Titanic.  I had to upload my photo to photoshop then use a meter that changed the threshold.  I selected the best level that gave me the best visual of the ship while it was black and white.

2. When creating the collage background explain your choices of colors, materials (magazine paper, books   pages, etc), and placement. How does it relate to your topic? If no relation discuss general idea.
     Well my colors and placement really had no planning.  I just used several national geographic photos so I could add several different cultures.  Since you know the Titanic is a boat and boat is about travel and when I think of travel I think of cultures.

3. Discuss the way positive and negative space was used to create your stencil.
     When we had traced the black and white photo we created we cut out the black color of it so it could form it's shape once we spray-painted.

4. When using the xacto knife, explain the safety procedures, how to use the knife and any challenges you had to overcome while cutting.
     We had to cut away from our body.  This was challenging because I felt more comfortable having the blade come towards me but apparently this was dangerous.

5. How was your experience with the spray paint? Discuss how color choice is important, placement of stencil, and any other concepts you noticed while creating this.
     I personally really enjoyed spray-painting.  It wasn't too hard and it was a lot of fun.  I really wanted to make me ship stand out so I had used a pink/yellow/orange background and then paint the ship white so you could clearly see it.  Now that I look back at it I think it would've been better to use a mix of blues instead of reds.
