Bird The Sequel

1.     Describe the overall composition of your artwork (balance, unity, rhythm and movement).
I feel that the balance of positive and negative needs some work because it's more yellow and not enough black.  The rhythm of it I feel is very peaceful and simplistic compared to some others.  There isn't a lot going on in this print and I like that.
2.     How did you add texture and contrast to your print? Is this important? Why?
The texture could use some work as well but I used the positive and negatice space plus the super thin cutter to add texture to the bird and branches.  It's super important because it adds dimension to the bird and branches.
3.     Explain how you used positive and negative space to show your image.
I used the negative space on the wings, beak, and horn of the cockatoo because those are the three most important part of the bird so I wanted it to be seen.
4.     Describe the craftsmanship of your print. (How good the project is technically crafted)
I think this print is very, very good because it's so simple and and peaceful.  There isn't a lot going on so you can focus on the big picture.
5.     Were you able to achieve depth by showing a foreground, middle ground and back- ground? Explain.
I was able to achieve depth because I used the ink very well around the bird.
6.     Explain your experience with Printmaking. What were the obstacles and advantages?
It was hard finding a good animal to print and addnig texture using the cutter was hard too.

Bailey Was Not Here

1. Explain your experience working on a team and executing your ideas for the mural.
It was really fun.  I thought I had a great idea but it really wasn't but when my team members added their ideas with my idea it really did become a great idea.  Also, it was easy on the brain not having to come up with all of the ideas by yourself.
2. Explain the importance of collaboration when working on a team.
You need to be able to work together as a team so that you get more work done in a quicker time.  working as a time is less stressful or more stressful depending on the type of person you are.  Some people like doing the work themselves and they don't feel comfortable relying on someone else and some other people rely on other people too much.  You need a balance of both so that you can trust your group members to get the work done.
3.  How successful was this project? Explain how and why.
Our project was extremely successful because the image we were trying to created was actually created with our hands and it felt great.  At first I was nervous we weren't going to finish but with good teamwork we did manage to finish.  This is a perfect example of working as a team to accomplish something big.
4. Explain how you feel about creating artwork that others can interact with. Ex. Invoving the whole school?
It's very, very fun to do these kinds of work.  It gives you a great feeling when your illusion or idea worked well.  Sometimes it's not easy to place what you're thinking into real life but with these projects and these groups it's not that hard.

1. Why is texture so important to have in your sketches?
Texture shows shape and defines features of ont only the animals but also the sorroundings.  Texture is what makes a good piece of art a great piece of art.
2. Why is it neccessary for you to have several references of each animal and each background? Explain.
Because you need more than one view of something.  It could be different in some places than what you think.
3. When you look at your sketches are you able to see which sketch is the strongest and will make the best print? How do you know this?
The cockatoo above is my best sketch because it has the cleanest shape and the backround is the best one.
